More newbie questions, regs!28 Jan 2004 08:28 GMT19
Howdy folks!
OK, after opinions, i'm looking to pick up some solid, basic regs to start
out with, nothing fancy, just air to my lungs to keep me finning.

Anyone ever Stayed at the HR? I understand that there is a Dive School

Semi-dry advice27 Jan 2004 14:11 GMT8
I've done a few dives in the UK using hired semi-drys and the hassle of
having to hang around dive shops waiting for something that never quite fits
right is beggining to grate so I was wondering if the group could offer some
tips on things to look for when buying one of my own.

DSMB inflate in cold water - purging27 Jan 2004 01:36 GMT55
The last couple of weeks I've been in Stoney, and both times done a bit of
DSMB deployment to keep myself in practice.  Being cold though I've found
that I can't actually press and hold the purge down fully because of my
hands being so cold, not enough to purge quickly enough to ...
Kit advice pls26 Jan 2004 23:10 GMT1
I currently use a Dacor RIG3 that I bought s/h when I started UK diving last
year. I am happy with this apart from the fact that it is a little short on
pocket space, but this is too bulky to stick in my suit case when holidaying
so I would like to get something more compact to ...

Tank markings... this old chestnut26 Jan 2004 15:34 GMT1
My tanks are due for cleaning in the couple of months, and I was
wondering whether it’s worth having them marked for trimix now, as I’ll
be completing my courses this year.
If I have them prepared for trimix, is there anything special that needs
Divemaster Insurance26 Jan 2004 14:52 GMT1
I’m considering taking out Divemaster Insurance to cover the huge amount
of expensive kit that I seem to have collected over the last few years.
My question is, has anyone actually claimed against Divemaster, and how
good are they at paying up.  I’m particularly interested in claims ...
Citizen Watches - Rip Off!26 Jan 2004 12:21 GMT21
After nearly two weeks I got the word back from Citizen - 90 QUID TO

I've had the watch less time than I've had the Aladin, I've used it less,
it's already had one new battery. 90 quid "service" charge on a watch that

Been reading the Insurance thread with interest and followed it down
to read Pete Stegge's account of their treatment of him.  My DAN

think about when renewing.  Has anyone else had reason to use DAN
Dive Travel Insurance24 Jan 2004 23:38 GMT34
Right, I'm busting this gaff and heading off for a week's liveaboard diving
in the Red Sea mid-February. As a result, I need some nice cheap travel
insurance that will cover me to dive to 30m (or greater, if available!).
Regaldive (who I've booked through) are quoting me ?27 for the ...
