Diving & Supplemments31 Aug 2003 22:10 GMT2
Can anyone recommend a good book on Diving medicine? I am interested
in learning more about the beneficial effects of certain supplements
(vitamins & minerals) for the scuba diver.. particularly in relation
to oxygen toxicity, more relevant to the Nitrox Diver.
Scubapro31 Aug 2003 16:12 GMT1
Can anyone tell me if they used / heard of anyone using a scubapro anchorage
dry suit. The local shop is offering a good deal on them. This will be my
first dry suit, so I'm a little unsure as to what I should be looking for
Any dry suit advice gratefully received

Doing PADI course soon. Is it better to use a prescription mask or to use
throw away contact lenses with a normal mask to correct short sight?
Scuba and spear fishing30 Aug 2003 08:40 GMT11
I recently read (and I quote),
"...spear fishing with SCUBA equipment is illegal in this country, as in
most."
I wonder if anyone can confirm this, and if it is illegal, what were the

Anyone got any info on Tor Tec cylinders?  I've asked a few people but
they've never heard of them.  Are they any good?

Torch battery29 Aug 2003 10:25 GMT7
I believe that it is unwise to recharge a battery before it if fully run
down.  This makes the battery last longer.
Is this correct and, if so, what do people do with their dive torches?  Do
they charge the night before each dive regardless of how much charge they
Suunto SPG (SM-26)29 Aug 2003 10:18 GMT3
Anyone know where I can get a Suunto SM-26.  According to Suunto they
don't export this model to the UK.  I can only find the SM-36.  The
SM-26 is identical to the SM-36 except the scale is set-up for 232 bar
tanks.  I know I can use the bigger scale but I'd prefer the smaller

Anyone know of anywhere close enough to Sheffield that I could
conceivably get there after work during the week?
Obviously there's Stoney, but they've got that stupid 2-hour close and
