My wife and I are trying to plan a combination sailing & diving trip.  We
had a fantastic trip to BVI last year, and we plan to do Tahiti in a few
years.  We've narrowed our choice this year to either Abacos in the Bahamas,
or St Martin.

I would like some information about diving in the red sea. Can anyone give
me some guidance. I would like to know if a land based or live-aboard is
better. Names of hotels and dive shops, best time to go. Any specifics would
be most appreciated. Thanks so much. Jamie

Chinchorro
In front of Costa Maya is Chinchorro, part of the second largest reef
in the world and It's Mexico's largest coral atoll, 240 square miles of

Will be in Monterey next week and deciding whether or not worth carting
gear.  I hear the viz off the Row rarely exceeds 15 ft. in July and
could be 3 ft.  Any experiences?

 We live in Union County, NJ and was looking for a place to go diving
as my first post-cert. dive.  I know it would be a bit cold,  but I am
willing to rent a 7mm or drysuit.  I have my own equipment except for
some kind of suit and tank.  So what part of NJ and dive shop near by?

Starting to look at a small ship cruise from Hawaii to Tahiti and might
add some extra days onto the trip...probably on the trip's front end.
Tentatively, we're looking at the Honolulu/ Waikiki beach area, so any
advice for good/bad dive op's in this area would also be appreciated ...

I will be going to Cabarete during Dec/Jan and was wondering if
somebody has done some scuba in Sosua and can recommend any dive
cernter or other opinion about this topic. Also which one would be the
best choice if one has to commute from Cabarete.

I do not post about my dive adventures very often but when I do they
are typically to give a positive plug about an operator that I have
used. Unfortunately, this report is not postive. I am posting it
because I feel too many errors were made by the operator, Rich Coast
