| How fast do you lose a tank of air after blowing gauges off | 11 Mar 2008 20:23 GMT | 23 |
From a previous thread of mine re OOA situations I recounted my instructor losing his gauges at depth which we treated as an OOA situation. Many people pointed out that while this is a high pressure situation it is low flow so not really out of air. However I am sure I remember ...

Hey all, I'm doing an around-the-world trip from April to August, and three places I'll be visiting are Malaysia (late April), Thailand (late April / early May), and Egypt (late June - early July). I'm not going

Hi scuba experts, I don't do scuba, but scuba looks like the closest thing to a small hobby project I am doing. It's a breathing circuit in which a person breathes through a ~3/4" diameter, ~1 foot long tube. The problem I am

I have a Canon PowerShot SD450, and I am trying to find a waterproof housing for it that is rated for deeper than 9.5 feet. So far I have had no luck. It has been suggested that I should be able to find a housing made for another Canon model that is close enough in style

| Out of air/gas situations interested if you have had one | 10 Mar 2008 05:43 GMT | 43 |
I have had 2:- 1 in the early 1980s when I was having a great dive off Heron Island on The Bommies and rather cheated on the 50bar back on the boat rule by sucking nothing at the 3 m safety stop. When asked my finishing pressure back on the boat a grunted "50" got me out of ...

| Octopus problem | 09 Mar 2008 23:26 GMT | 19 |
OK, it has occurred to me that there is a bit of dive talk going on here, so I figured I'd ask. My octopus (alternate second stage) has been acting up, despite being serviced and checked for the specific problem.

| Looking for diving fiction from the 70s (60s?) | 09 Mar 2008 22:27 GMT | 13 |
Greetings from the past! I see much stays the same. I've spent much of the last 4 years with the online skydiving community who also talk early and often about guns. Not too surprising - I think any activity that requires a willingness to face fear will have a lot of people who

OK Folks, please resist the urge to yell "PARANOID" all at once :-))) But..... Just purely out of curiosity...... I happen to have caught, for the 1st time, the latest re-running of the Discovery/Travel/etc. Channel's shows on the "irukandji" species of Box Jelly. Supposedly, ...

| A romantic resort with good snorkling? | 04 Mar 2008 03:45 GMT | 6 |
Is it possible? My head is spinning and I thought I'd come to the experts! I've been out of the dive scene for a while but am an experienced free diver. My gal is looking for the nice beach (with the dude carrying the drink tray) but I will quickly bore of that and want to ...

I find this hard to believe. This says a lot about the French. I like to think Americans would do better. Note, this has nothing to do with guns or SCUBA. http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1773116
