| I got defered | 08 Oct 2007 03:57 GMT | 13 |
I went in two weeks ago to give blood. They defered me until today. If you've been to Cozumel, Cancun or Playa del Carmen, you're defered for a year, according to CDC guidelines. The lady told me that would change when the new guidelines came out, that was probably going to be

| Fin size | 07 Oct 2007 21:02 GMT | 12 |
I am getting tired (literally) of my current fins and think that split fins might be a better alternative. Browsing through the online stores though I have a small problem with finding the right size of open heel fins. My regular shoe size is 9.5, I usually dive with drysuit boots

| Andaman Sea, beginning of November? | 06 Oct 2007 15:03 GMT | 1 |
I'm thinking about taking a diving trip to Thailand's Similan Islands at the beginning of November. Some sources say the monsoon season's over by then; some dive shops have said that at that exact time it's day-today as to what the weather will be like then.

http://www.channel5belize.com/archive_detail_story.php?story_id=19357 This is just the latest incidence with this company. Others have reported similar problems though not to this extent. Some have just felt they had no choice but to pay for what appears to be extortion and then ...

| Will my friend still be able to dive? | 03 Oct 2007 05:40 GMT | 1 |
He just got some bad news. Assuming as positive an outcome as is possible, he's been told he'll be able to swim and otherwise have a "normal life". Among all the things he's concerned about, one of them is whether or not he'll be able to dive with his colostomy bag.

| cruising and scuba | 02 Oct 2007 22:47 GMT | 10 |
Although a cruise ship is hardly the ideal way to plan a scuba vacation, I gotta admit that my first dive was a Princess Cruises deal in Mexico. Enjoyed it immensely, and it got me hooked (though a friend found the dive an "experiment in terror"-- well, it was PADI!)

| Interesting pressure question | 02 Oct 2007 22:15 GMT | 49 |
Is the pressure on you the same, at any given depth, whether you dive in a lake, a crater, a swimming pool or the ocean? I'm thinking the larger the body of water the more water there is to exert pressure on you.

| Anyone dive the Sweetheart wreck in Lake Huron? | 02 Oct 2007 13:24 GMT | 3 |
Has anyone here ever dove on the sweetheart in Lake Huron? I went out with some friends on Sunday diving and we took the coordinates from a book called "100 best wrecks of the great lakes" anyway even with two GPS units and supposedly sitting on the wreck we found nothing.
