Just got certified!21 Aug 2007 09:25 GMT25
Just got back from Utah where I was certified in a big crater.  Not sure I
can call myself a diver yet, but I had a blast swimming around, and I also
wanted to thank everyone for all their help and support.
You were all right about getting down deeper and learning some tricks to

I was bored so I started searching archives and came across these
findings in rec.scuba circa 1990. I thought a few of you might get a

Cleaning mask18 Aug 2007 23:09 GMT12
I only dive in salt water and have always rinsed off my equipment with
clean freash water. I've noticed that my mask has a sort of thin layer
of grime, for lack of a better word, on the silicone. I tried warm water
and Ivory soap and it seemed to clean it squeaky clean, but when ...

I sent gear for my girlfriend and me, based on a promised one-week
turnaround. After a month, they send it back with a letter from Tim
Robinson the Repair Service Manager, saying they didn't service our
brands. They have since updated their web site with acceptable brands

I'll be there, diving the St. Lawrence wrecks with Abucs. Is anyone else
going to be in the area?
I'm leaving my guns at home, but will be armed with knives.

What Scuba Software Would You Like?17 Aug 2007 20:05 GMT4
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about Scuba diving software
that they would like on their computer (as I am looking for a fun
project to combine my interests of Scuba Diving and Computer
Programming). It could be anything from a Dive Log to a 3D mapping

OW certification next week -- boyancy question16 Aug 2007 17:13 GMT34
Let's say you establish buoyancy at 30 feet.  How far up or down can you
deviate from that 30 feet by swimming up or down without adding or removing
air from your bc?  Oh, yeah.  This means being in control as well.
I guess I'll soon find out on my own, but I can't believe you ...

from Dean, according to the Navy prediction, but then, these things change
daily.  It still won't make for a good time there.  It can be monitored at
