Back Inflation and GO Diving31 Aug 2007 05:10 GMT29
There was a discussion a while back on wing type and back inflation types of
buoyancy compensators.  Here is something new.
Yesterday I used a wetsuit, BP/W, and 16# of lead.  The dive plan was to
swim a few hundred yards and sit on the bottom and pull weeds.  Sixteen
Brockville Trip Report 8/0730 Aug 2007 14:31 GMT6
Getting There: About a 6-7 hour drive from the Philadelphia area
Motel: Best Western White House in Brockville exceeded our expectations,
very nice room. It is just a few minutes from downtown Brockville and
the park where the dive boats are.
Going through diving withdrawal -- Need help30 Aug 2007 12:13 GMT54
Is there a minimum of equipment I can buy to get down to the bottom of our
pool which is 12 feet?  I just have this urge when swimming in the lane to
start going down when the pool depth starts to drop off.
I figure I need at least a mask, fins and weights.  Is there a minimum of
Newbie - asking about where to price gear29 Aug 2007 00:55 GMT62
Hey all, another dumb newbie type question here...
Basically I started pricing out some scuba gear, pending the
completion of my certification, I'll likely be purchasing my own
kit...however when my instructor found out I was doing so online, his
Milfoil - Pulling it out is work28 Aug 2007 11:40 GMT7
Yesterday it seemed like a good idea to pull milfoil at a local lake.  I
swam to the swimming area with a dive flag.  At the swim area I surfaced to
cross the milfoil to begin work.  Holding the weight of the flag shaft in
one hand and the plastic line reel in the other I set ...
AquaSeal Adhesive - Maybe Three Hundred Thanks27 Aug 2007 07:11 GMT1
AquaSeal Adhesive comes in a tube and can be found at many dive shops.  You
can use it with Cotol-240 to cure faster.  Both these products will become
useless in short order without proper storage.  I'll tell you how to keep
them in useful condition and what they are useful for.

Happen to be out at a local quarry over the weekend
and it was storming....

Ignoring the entry/exit aspect, as then you are "exposed",
What to do with 1980s Scuba Gear?24 Aug 2007 19:34 GMT9
I have some vintage, meaning old, dive gear I want to get rid of.
Specifically a US Divers Sea Otter BC, a SeaPro ATPack BC with a compartment
for lead shot in lieu of a weight belt, a regulator with a US Divers
Conshelf XIV second stage and a Mares 12 III octopus, and a ...
Where is the best diving worldwide?24 Aug 2007 04:02 GMT6
Just returned from a week of diving with friends off Bonaire and skipped out
just before Hurricane Dean shut down most air traffic in the region.  Stayed
at Captain Don's Habitat.  Surprised to see Don is still kicking although
not really involved in Habitat except a weekly ...
drying booties23 Aug 2007 04:04 GMT15
had a weekend trip to a local quarry and used some Scubapro 5mm booties.
Now, a friend said to swish them out with something like simple green,
to kill anything growing in there, and then let them dry out completely.
It is taking a long time to dry out - have them propped up with a ...
Padi Skill Interpretation23 Aug 2007 02:39 GMT3
Something came up between two instructors from different shops and I
wonder if anyone cares to add their opinion.
Padi 15m No Mask Swim from pool dive 4.
All the standard says is that the student must swim 15m without a mask,
My friends on Ambergris Caye are taking on the chin again23 Aug 2007 02:10 GMT11
While the eye of Dean is slipping slightly above them this time, it is still
wreaking destruction in Ambergris Caye and Chetumal areas with its inner and
outter bands.  This is a huge huge storm.  Even Roatan and north Honduras
are feeling it.
