Well, I did my five dives Friday, at Perch Lake, and Saturday at Lake
Wazee.  Friday night I did my underwater navigation, search and
recovery and underwater naturalist.

Can anyone recommend any good sites on learning how to float and swim?
Ones with diagrams would be best.
Conflicting Accounts of the Rouse's Demise14 Jul 2006 04:12 GMT316
So, I've read Bernie Chowdhury's book, The Last Dive and Robert
Kurson's book, Shadow Divers.  Both authors mention the airlifting of
the Rouses in great detail, yet, the accounts are nearly completely
the opposite in regard to the airlift of the Rouses by the Coast
What Tank to Buy?14 Jul 2006 03:53 GMT88
I'm thinking about purchasing a tank.  My LDS has 80 cf. aluminum
tanks for $139 but I've come to the conclusion that I really don't
like aluminum due to its buoyancy with little air in the tank.  But, I
know I'll be using them in Florida or the Caribbean so maybe I should
Bubble Grade Study in Actual Scuba Diving Conditions14 Jul 2006 03:13 GMT6

(for you newbies, 10footstop is the only diving medical source
worth a sh.t, and a {free} subscription is mandatory for all
divers that have even the slightest interest in their health.)
About Kimber13 Jul 2006 13:42 GMT8
I talked to Kimber on the phone today.
She definitely took a hit, DCS/AGE, but the docs haven't wrung out the
complete cause and effect.
She's alert and having some motor skills challenges, but making steady
rec.scuba - There might be some lack of oxygen going on with those tanks, beware!12 Jul 2006 01:52 GMT89
It has come to my attention that some people's tanks here are
depriving them of some much needed oxygen when they're scuba diving,
leading to a decline in intelligence. They may be hostile towards
other posters and such stuff, so beware and please be careful.
LA SCUBA ADP Programme Update11 Jul 2006 03:55 GMT2
Well, this weekend was the first two days of the class.  My wife and I
attended.  The first day was just paper work and lenghty introductions to
what we can expect plus a thorough review of the a relatively complete
history of SCUBA.
LA SCUBA ADP programme10 Jul 2006 14:31 GMT108
I've been looking at the LA scuba Advanced Diver Program
http://www.lascuba.com/adp.html
and it looks intense, seeing as it is 10 weekends in length, but it looks
like it encompasses everything I have an interest in and is very reputable.
Hookah, Hooka, Third Lung, Surface supplied air10 Jul 2006 04:59 GMT1
Hello, I am trying to find out who makes the twin piston compressor for
the Brownies Third Lung.  This is for the direct drive setup, not the
pully setup.

I'm sure I'm not the first...so how long does the blood take to go away?
It's not so nice to look at.
Catalina AL80 vs Luxfer AL8009 Jul 2006 14:46 GMT8
Just a quick question. My Catalina AL80s are in the shop for hydro and
visual inspection and the LDS loaned me Luxfer AL80s in their place. I've
read about different buoyancy characteristics but am confused by what I've
seen on google. Do I need to adjust my weighting?
