DUI wants $200 for measuring...WTF????29 Oct 2005 03:52 GMT15
I called DUI about the demo they are having around the country to try
one of their dry suits. I asked the fellow who answered the phone what
the size charts in the 3x, 4x, 5x, areas were. He suggested that I
contact a local dealer and get measured to find out for sure. So I

Snorkels.  Why?28 Oct 2005 15:56 GMT28
Are snorkels really necessary?  (Other than if you're going snorkelling,
that is.)  Swimming on the surface to point B, it seems a lot easier just to
inflate my BC and swim with my head out of the water.  I've racked my brain
to think of an emergency situation where I might need one ...
In the BVIs next week28 Oct 2005 10:53 GMT4
Now I know the BVIs aren't famous for the diving, but I will be chartering a
38 ft catamaran...so I'll pick up a few tanks...drop overboard near Norman
Island and the Dogs...nice and easy...get a few interesting dives in, then
back on the cat for gin & tonics.
While we're on the subject...26 Oct 2005 23:46 GMT114
I need a new computer.
It needs to be wrist mounted.
needs a remote transmitter for tank pressure.
Must work independent of the transmitter.

haigh quarry25 Oct 2005 20:53 GMT3
I went there on Saturday & was amazed at how busy this little quarry is
(even on a cold day in October). located  about an hour south of Chicago. Do
any of the regulars around here frequent this place?
I like to meet some more people in this area to dive with if anyone ever
any decent cancun diving?25 Oct 2005 02:22 GMT9
I may have a chance to go down to Cancun for a non-dive related event in
early December.  I've never been to Cancun but have been to Cozumel twice.
Is there any half decent diving near Cancun or should I just forget about
diving there and take the two hours to get to Cozumel?

Becoming a PADI open water scuba instructor is much too easy24 Oct 2005 07:51 GMT57
Becoming a PADI open water scuba instructor is much too easy
considering the amount of responsibility that is involved. Instructors
conduct everything from Discover Scuba through dive master, and yet one
can be certified in as little as four days.
