Key Largo16 Jun 2005 04:41 GMT18
The last thread I found under Key Largo is 3 years old, so I'm asking
the age-old worn out question about dive sites and shops in Key Largo.
Only have two kids left at home (16 & 19), and want to do this while we
can.  They are newly certified, and this will be their first ocean
discount gear?15 Jun 2005 01:18 GMT16
I'm just beginning to learn about scuba diving, and don't
want to put much money into it until I find out if I'll want
to do much of it. Right now I'm looking for the best price

equipt rentals for beach diving in Curacao15 Jun 2005 01:10 GMT2
Have dove curacao in the past and loved it.  Returning this coming April
but not staying at an "all inclusive" resort.  Am planning on beach
diving only and need to rent gear.  Anyone recommend a dive shop for
renting equipment?

This is either the scam of the century or a pretty ground-breaking piece
of news. An Israeli company has patented and prototyped a tankless
underwater breathing apparatus that separates ...

Does anybody know if there are plans to produce an underwater housing
for Canon PowerShot SD200 or SD300 cameras?
The on currently available is an all-weather one and doesn't allow to
go dipper than 3m.

south florida + jellyfish13 Jun 2005 03:02 GMT12
Does anyone on this NG have any idea as to what time of year the jellyfish
appear around the palm beach area.   I was there in August a couple of years
ago and the water was unswimable.   Is it like that every year or was that
just a fluke (no pun intended)
SCUBA tank at high altitude?13 Jun 2005 01:09 GMT7
This is a physics question.
Say you were in an airplane at 40,000 feet and lost cabin pressure.
Would a SCUBA tank be of any help?  Could you breathe higher pressure
air in a lower pressure environment?  Would the 3000 psi SCUBA tank

Dive Recommendations or Outifts in St. Thomas / St. John12 Jun 2005 05:07 GMT9
I'm going on vacation with the family - I'm the only scuba diver so I
wanted to sneak away for a 1/2 or full day dive while in St. Thomas.
We'll be staying at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef there.
I've search the newsgroups on recommendations for St. Thomas and I've
Why is everyone allowed to carry a deadly assault weapon?10 Jun 2005 06:08 GMT9
The subject should fit right into gns and politics, so I am
posing the question in this ng.
Russell Crowe (of current "Cinderella Man" fame) was charged
with a "4th degree assault with a deadly weapon" in NY, and
Inexpensive Backup Computer?09 Jun 2005 04:28 GMT15
I'm going on my first live-aboard and was thinking I might want a redundant
computer. I currently dive with an Aeris 300G and was thinking it might be a
good idea to get a wrist mount one as well, just in case... Any suggestions
on a relatively inexpensive, nitrox-compatible ...
Identification help08 Jun 2005 13:51 GMT10
I recently saw an ocean creature that I'm not able to identify.  I'll do my
best to describe it here.
I ran across two of them on the same dive, each were tucked tightly into
little holes in coral heads.  I first noticed them because they had some
