Diving with a knee injury30 Jun 2005 03:00 GMT7
I'm curious as to if any of you out there have gone diving with a
knee injury.  I suffered a hairline fracture to my fibula (right below
the knee) about a week ago and have a trip scheduled for Belize in two
weeks.  Recovery time from my doc is 4 - 6 weeks, which would put me
Brac Reef / Cayman Brac27 Jun 2005 15:33 GMT1
Am thinking of late-year trip to Brac Reef Resort and would appreciate
comments by recent visitors (at least since the big Hurricane a few
years back.)

so, who's really diving (on topic)24 Jun 2005 12:01 GMT44
Perfect weather yesterday, rain & overcast, great for keeping the
swimming only crowd down.  Did a "quickie", 120 ffw for 14, 30 min TDT (bud
using single 80), then a few shallow minutes down the run to shorten the
walk.  Used 31% in dub AL80s, 3 mil full, 2 mil hood.  Water ...
Scuba tanks transported to high altitude24 Jun 2005 11:02 GMT15
Is there any danger in transporting scuba tanks filled to 3000psi at
sea level to an altitude of 10,000 ft in a car?  Does it weaken the
tanks or have any other ill effects?  What about the risk of rupture?

We are considering a Dive trip to Roatan and are thinking about 3 resorts;
Anthony's Key Resort, CoCo View resort and Inn of Last Resort.  We are
looking for an All-inclusive (meals included) package in a nice place.
About us;  We are certified divers but have not had a dive in 5 ...

Florida dive vacation advice22 Jun 2005 20:43 GMT39
Our only diving experiences have been in SE Asia (where we live). In
mid-July we are heading to Orlando, Florida for some meetings and have
scheduled in a week to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We want
to go somewhere in Florida with good diving as well as interesting
sand tiger NC22 Jun 2005 17:14 GMT4
Just before the Memorial Day weekend I did a bit of diving off North
Carolina.  Encountered a lot of Sand Tigers.  They were very big but
also extremely passive.   In Africa the Sand Tigers are listed as man
eaters.  Anyone know why the North American sharks are so benign and
What's wrong with these pictures ?22 Jun 2005 04:23 GMT4
When I saw there was an article on diving the Galapagos in the July /
August 2005 Alert Diver, I smiled.  The title was "Extreme Adventure,
Meeting the Challenges of Diving the Galapagos Islands".  I eagerly
grabbed the magazine and a cup of coffee and went outside on the porch
barnacle removal22 Jun 2005 03:19 GMT25
Anyone out there ever took barnacles off by diving. I am going to clean a
friend of mines dads boat because he is very sick and cannot perform this
task. Does anyone know how long it takes? The boat is 45ft. thanks.
Hal Watts20 Jun 2005 04:53 GMT8
Just dropped into Hal Watts 40 Fathom Grotto in Florida last weekend on a
trimix training dive. The place is fairly creepy with green duck weed
covering the entire surface. Once you get about 30 feet down, it is darker
than any night dive I have ever seen. Found a copy of one of the ...

I just won a  U.S. Divers Scan 5 dive computer on e-bay.  I am usually
pretty good about finding things on the internet, but I can't find a
download site for the user manual anywhere.
Can anyone point me to the website to find it the manual?  If they are
