Question about sharks19 Jan 2005 07:31 GMT27
I would like to one day go on some dives, but have not done so yet.
So, please pardon my novice question, but I am very curious.  I watched
the movie "Open Water", then afterwards read the story/summary of the
inquiry about the people it was based on.  Granted, nobody knows the

Are there any good sites with trust worthy reviews out there? I am having a
bit of a problem deciding on gar as most of the sites all say good things
about he items being reviewed...
Cheers
Maytag Store, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Rt. 30916 Jan 2005 10:54 GMT1
To anyone from the northeastern part of Pa., in the town of
Wilkes-Barre, a message  (non Pontiac oriented)
BEWARE- AVOID the Maytag appliance store on Rt. 309 by Home Depot, in
Wilkes-Barre. The guy that owns it is a major jerk, he talked me into a
Central Keys recommandations15 Jan 2005 06:52 GMT4
Can anyone give some recommandations for dive operators in the middle Florida
Keys area?  I have not dove the Marathon area since the late '90's.  I used to
use "The Diving Site" but I beleive they are no longer in business.  I do
mostly reef diving, occasional wrecks, no nitrox.  I ...
SPGs for stages / sidemount tanks14 Jan 2005 19:35 GMT25
Just curious... Why is it that the DIR folks seem to want normal SPGs with
6" hoses for the stages instead of the small SPGs that screw directly into
the high pressure port?
Perhaps they consider them easier to read more accurately?  Does the same
Jan. trip to Fantasy Island Roatan.14 Jan 2005 01:19 GMT14
I've just joined a group trip from our dive shop in Pittsburgh (Splash), from January 8-15 at Fantasy Island on Roatan.
Yeah, I know. But they had an opening, it was cheap, I didn't have time to plan anything else, so it was the line of least resistance. I was in Ft. Lauderdale ...
Advice on Galapagos12 Jan 2005 05:33 GMT5
Would appreciate info on Galapagos experiences folks might have had.  Of
particular interest (concern):
- temperature.  I've only done warm water diving, and easily get cold even
then.  Should I be taking a dry suit course or just thick wetsuit (5mm

Suunto Vyper11 Jan 2005 07:06 GMT17
Is there a way I can reset the memory (and hence logbook and history)
without sending it in to Suunto?
Cheers,

Thanks,
Henderson Ice Cap question10 Jan 2005 03:52 GMT4
I have recently been attempting to use a Henderson ice cap under my
regular wetsuit hood, and my mask seems to keep flooding, at times
almost uncontrolable. The mask fits with moderate tightness to my head,
and the mask seems to fit well to the ice cap. Have tried smooth rubber
European Tanks08 Jan 2005 03:06 GMT72
I recently noticed a French tank on eBay for sale... It's rated in bars and
probably doesn't have a DOT stamp -- probably whatever the European
equivalent might be... It's also likely that it has metric threads, so I
might be hard pressed to get a manifold for it without ordering it ...
Help: How do I become a BEES1 or CMAS instructor07 Jan 2005 01:20 GMT1
I am a current PADI MSDT, and I am interested in earning one of these
European instrucor ratings in order to teach in French territories.
I've been struggling for some time to understand the mess that is
french law....my french is not that good :)
Scuba Stereotypes06 Jan 2005 19:55 GMT115
I am curious about people who defy scuba stereostypes. If the press (scuba
magazines, Scuba Radio, etc., are to be believed, all scuba divers are
white, (possibly Polynesian,) beautiful, sexy, youngh, herterosexual and
homophobic.
