NAUI instruction in Montreal area23 Sep 2004 03:20 GMT1
I'm looking for an entry level NAUI instruction course in the
Montreal,QC area.
I've never dived before and am not sure what a good way to evaluate
different schools is.
Andrea Doria23 Sep 2004 01:10 GMT9
I'm thinking about diving the Doria next year, has anyone dove the Doria in
the last couple of years? Is it worth the trouble and the money?
Brownie's/Halcyon22 Sep 2004 21:19 GMT2
It has been a bit more than four years since my wife and I purchased our
Halcyon backplates and wings at Brownie's Southport Divers in Ft Lauderdale.
http://www.yachtdiver.com   Subsequently I had a bad experience with
Brownie's, and I said so here.  Now I've had a good -- or at ...

free diving fins for snorkelling21 Sep 2004 23:13 GMT5
Up front alert:  I'm a 'recreational' snorkeller.  I'm not a hardbody and I
max out around 30' deep or so (with conventional fins anyway...).  But in
searching for a new pair of fins, a local shop is telling me that free
diving fins (Gara's etc.) require LESS effort and that there ...

Blood donation & DCS16 Sep 2004 18:15 GMT15
I would like to know if a diver is more inclined to get DCS if he donates
blood 12 hours prior to dives that involve some minor (10-15 min) mandatory
deco stops and dove with conservative tables. Dive and deco done on 30%.
Plenty of fluids taken.
Constant P0216 Sep 2004 13:09 GMT5

Where do You Get Your Equipment?  Store vs. Internet?15 Sep 2004 04:35 GMT110
Where do most of you get your equipment from?  At an actual dive store
or off the internet?
The reason I ask is because I stopped in at my local dive store this
evening.  My former dive instructor wasn't there, just his wife.
is diving in Cuba safe?15 Sep 2004 00:53 GMT22
I usually go with either a PADI or NAUI scuba operator when I travel in
order to hopefully make sure that the dive operator I'm using is up to some
type of standard.  Since these two agencies are not in Cuba, I do have some
concern diving there.  Has anyone dived in Cuba and is so, ...
Shipwreck Central13 Sep 2004 22:41 GMT1
Please check out www.shipwreckcentral.com.  This site was created in
conjunction with The Sea Hunters, a documentary series on History
Television and National Geographic Television.  We have a great
interactive map covered with wrecks but we need more. If you know of a
Newbie Question, Need Advice.13 Sep 2004 20:51 GMT3
I'm 23, female and I am not a certified diver, but I've been considering
taking the required classes/instruction for about a year now. I live in
PA but spend lots of time at the Delaware shore and in Ocean City, MD
and hope to dive there if I can talk one of my friends into going ...
