I just purchased a new s40 tank and k valve for my daughter, received separately. Are there steps required prior to just screwing in the valve to the tank? Specifically:

I've heard mention of a 232? bar being adaptable to a k fitting adapter and the larger 320 ? bar not being able to accept the adapter. I'm looking at a pst 100 tank at divers direct and he mentioned something about the valve, i think he said the adapter was in the valve already ?

I've noticed a lot of DIN valves on the HP steel tanks, is this valve considered standard on these tanks ? Also, are the threads such on these tanks where if I bought a used steel with the DIN valve I could replace with a K valve ? I'm looking for a larger air supply but the ...

I am planning to visit southern California, specifically Catalina Island, at the end of Aug, and have hooked up with Scuba Luv on the island, for two days of diving. I plan on renting a 7/5, possibly to wear over my 3mil full. I am also bringing a 7m hood and 5m gloves.
