DAN Insurance26 Jul 2004 21:29 GMT6
I am from India, just finished my OW certification at Curacao where I
work. While inquiring about insurance, it seems DAN preferred plan is
only for American citizens. Anyone has any other alternate
suggestions?
proposed new legislation in Israel26 Jul 2004 21:04 GMT10
I wish to register my voice in protest against the new proposed
legislation that would require divers in Israel to dive only in the
framework of guided dives.
While I can appreciate the reasons behind the proposal, namely to
Time between dive and airline flight26 Jul 2004 20:51 GMT63
Just to refresh my memory, I will be taking some "refresher dives" when
I'm in Miami Beach next month.  I'll probably do it one afternoon.
How much time do I need between my dives and getting back home on my
return flight?
Most Common Serious Problem?26 Jul 2004 03:36 GMT27
Just wondering, are there any serious problems that divers face while at
depth that are more common than others?  In other words, when a diver has a
serious problem at say 60 feet, what is the problem likely to be?  Besides
sunburn.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Commits Suicide25 Jul 2004 06:03 GMT1
Early this morning Arnold Schwarzenegger was found hanging by his neck from the large oak tree in his Californian garden.  In a suicide note found at the scene he tells of his sordid sex life and lack of will to live.  A copy of the suicide note which was found by journalists has ...
How much to tip on boat dives?24 Jul 2004 23:29 GMT9
Just wondering what is considered proper when you  were well
taken care of. Talking about the dive guild not about the cook.

Depth and Pretty Pictures24 Jul 2004 12:43 GMT11
Ok, I have about a dozen or so scuba diving magazines that I have picked
up over the last six months.  All have pretty pictures of
coral/fish/vegetation/etc...  One thing I don't see is how deep these things
are.
Cayman Island Report24 Jul 2004 12:16 GMT6
A week ago today, my family arrived on Grand Cayman.  It was 90+ degrees and
humid all week.  We stayed at the Comfort Suites and it was a great family
motel.  We had a two bedroom suite, so one bedroom was for my wife and me,
the other bedroom for my daughter, and my son slept on ...
Should I update the GPS?24 Jul 2004 09:03 GMT16
My Garmin "GPS 12 Map" hand held is getting to be rather old.  I was
thinking that maybe I should get a newer one.  What with the improved
satellite signal strength, WAAS capability, color LCD displays, increased
memory, and all, I figured that what's out there now should be *so* ...
Equalization23 Jul 2004 22:07 GMT4
I'm quite new to diving and this list. I'm beginning a PADI open water class in
a few weeks. But I was recently in turks and caicos and tried to dive with an
instructor, but they told me I had to be certified by a dive doctor since I had
ear problems as a child and I sitll have ...

NH Dive Info Wanted - Isle of Shoals22 Jul 2004 02:55 GMT1
We're signed up to do the Isle of Shoals wall dive and seal dive on Sunday
with Captain Rob and I was wondering if anyone has done that area lately.
Specifically, what is the water temperature at depth lately? (We've been
diving Cape Ann, MA and York, ME and haven't generally been ...
Diagnosis: Leiden Factor V21 Jul 2004 21:25 GMT25
The hematologist prescribes golf.  He didn't take it very well when I told
him that golf is for people who've already given up.  I'll be contacting
DAN.  There is no way I'm just going to roll over and die.

for Curtis21 Jul 2004 18:17 GMT10
Once again, I'd like to say a big 'good job bro' to our bud Curtis. I just
caught a part of the competition from a coupla weeks ago on ESPN today.
Looks like Curtis finished the competition with a broken finger (?) or worse
on his right hand and still going through the final rounds ...
