Following up from the 'life on the reef' thread, does anybody have any recommendations for a good fish ID book? I'm looking for one on the reef fish of Southeast Asia and the Pacific. I've seen some excellent ones in diveshops, but don't know who wrote them.

Can anyone recommend some good scuba locations with a few hours of Newark International Airport ? Is there anything worthwhile off Virginia the Carolinas or Georgia? What recommendations are there for Florida?

Two brands seem to have resonably priced snorkeling packages(mask, snorkel, fins, and backpack) US Divers for $30 and Body Glove for $50. Is the Body Glove product significantly better?

Whenever I need advise I turn to the wise people of usenet - hope you guys can help me out on this one! In June we have a group of 17 people(16 to mid 40's) traveling aboard the cruiseship Paradise to Belize, Roatan, Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

please have a look for our wrecks and wreckdiving website... You may find there description and historic images of Baltic Sea wrecks... there are also underwater images and movie.... the second section diving is related to tec and wreck diving in Poland.

I just saw a PBS program on whales. It mentioned a place Northeast of Australia named Tonga. It said that it is one of the only two places in the world where one can swim with Humpback whales. It sounds great. Has anyone every been there?
