to electric and back and output of around 10CFM.I've been looking around
and found one called an ALKIN made by these guys-www.airetex.com. I've

I am heading off to Maui for a weeks worth of diving during the first
week of May.  I was wondering if anyone could recommend a site where I
could stand a good chance of seeing a ray (eagle ray, manta ray,
whatever I just want to see one) at that time of the year.  Most of the

dive deep at beginning or the end of a trip?31 Mar 2004 01:17 GMT22
I am heading off south for 4 days of diving.  Most of the diving is shallow
(60ft average) but I will be making two or three 100+ dives.  Nitrox not
available for any of the dives, so, it will all be with compressed air. What
is best, having my deep dives on the first or second day ...
Suunto Vyper Interface31 Mar 2004 00:24 GMT9

made by Suunto, but the guy sure sels alot of them?  Has anyone
attempted to make their own interface?  I'd like to eventually upload
my Vyper, but the original interface is pricey.
Shark Diving vs. Manta Ray Dives?30 Mar 2004 03:34 GMT4
Just got back from a couple of days of diving on the Big Island.  Had a
great time and made lots of new friends.  Meet another Dive Master with a
stick up his butt, too.   It must be that I'm getting older because I'm just
*so unwilling* to put up with sh.t from some scrawny 25 ...

Does anyone know an email for him?  I remember him from Grand Cayman '77 and
I'm sure if I describe myself to him he'd remember me.

kona shore diving -- buddies?28 Mar 2004 22:36 GMT1
My family and I are planning to visit Kona in early May.
I am the only diver in the family.  I'd very much like to do some shore
diving while I'm there -- does anyone know how I might go about finding
a buddy over there?  Or should I just plan to keep it above 40 feet and
