I have finally decided to go to Puerto Rico next month and plan to do some
diving.  Someone mentioned Parguera Divers as a possible dive shop.  Does
anyone know about them?  And also recommendation for others?  I am a new
diver and I might take some courses in addition to some fun ...

I'm PADI certified and have noticed that a few local dive shops have
recently switched to SSI.  Is there any major pros or cons to either
organization.  Any opinions would be appreciated.

While we are on the subject of nitrox etc etc...
Whats the scoop on "evidence" that the lower nitrogen loading of nitrox (or for
that matter trimix) reduces "micro damage" (my words for lack of better ones)

I learned to snorkel off the coast of Hawaii and now want to learn to
scuba dive.....should I learn in a pool at the YMCA or the ocean where
there are currents?....thank you.

natural history of the Canary Islands. We now have these titles
available in the US at Balogh.com. They would be an excellent start
for anyone looking for information about the fascinating Canary

Hopeing the list could recomend some red sea diving locations.  We are
looking for the best diving the Red Sea has to offer - seems to be a lot out
there.

I'm going to be switching from diving HP steel singles to HP steel doubles.
How do you roughly calculate how much weight would be need with the doubles.
Presently I need about 26 pounds with a DUI drysuit and a single HP 100.

finding shrimp -- almost always with the help of a dive master.  I know that
there are tricks for finding some animals (e.g., look for a small pile of shell
bits next to a rock to find an octopus).  ...
