Viewing jelly animals16 Dec 2003 01:53 GMT1
Some of my favorite diving has been in shallow water, < 5 meters. Warm, no
air or N2 limit, and lots of interesting jelly animals. Bit hard to see
them, though. Anyone here know if there are useful contrast-enhancing
techniques? Does the combination of polarizers and wave plates ...

End Dreaded Boot Rot15 Dec 2003 06:50 GMT12
I've been experimenting for a couple years with some steel tanks, two
new, one slightly corroded at the boot line, and one seriously corroded
at the boot line, looking for a solution to the evil boot rot problem.
Re another current thread on old 72s, here's my findings.
For Mike Gray:  Boat Parade?15 Dec 2003 05:21 GMT7
Mike,
I was just checking when the boat parade was going on this year; it will be
tomorrow according to the Boynton local events calendar.  Do they ever come
through Boynton anymore?  I see that it runs from Ft. Lauderdale to Pompano,

tank fills Boston/ Cape Cod13 Dec 2003 12:51 GMT2
Does anyone know if any marinas around Boston or Cape Cod fill tanks?
I go out boating ( and now diving as a new sport ) for days at a time
and I'm hoping I can get scuba tanks filled without having to moor the
boat and drive to a dive shop.

ScubaToys RECOMMENDATION13 Dec 2003 03:58 GMT1
I have been trying to find a satisfactory digital camera for an upcoming
trip and just wanted to commend Scuba Toys dive
store(http://www.scubatoys.com) for their wonderful customer service.  I am
in no way affiliated with them (I don't even live in the same state).
Diving in Provo13 Dec 2003 01:52 GMT2
Looks like I will be taking a boat to Provo in the T&Cs next week and  thought
I would stay a couple of extra days and do some diving. And thoughts on cheap
lodging and who to dive with?
                                                               Thanks, Capt.
Recommendations about inexpensive digital cameras/underwater housings.12 Dec 2003 14:35 GMT3
I am thinking of getting an underwater camera to use while diving, and
the local dive shop is offering the Olympus Stylus 300 with the Ikelite
housing for about 600$.  The price fits in my budget - I didn't want to
spend 2K$ to get into this, and is the way I would prefer to go. ...

Since this has been posted in the History Channel discussion forum
already, the sad news might as well be mentioned here. Michael
Norwood, co-host with John Chatterton of 'Deep Sea Detectives' died
this past weekend diving, on what I would presume to be a wreck, in
