A group of divers are looking to go on a week long trip to Croatia next year
around June. Does anyone have any experiences on diving in the area,
particularly the islands. All divers are CMAS 2* or above and would prefer
do some unaccompanied diving rather than dive with a guide.
Any recommendations on areas and dive centres or other general advice on
diving in Croatia would be greatly appreciated.

I've only been to Slovenia and didn't go diving, though the border is so
close I was getting welcome to Croatia SMS messages on my mobile phone. I
did see a load of people shore diving in Piran. The dive shop there has a
website but I think it's in Slovenian. They were a PADI shop. They
definitely advertise a wreck dive.

I remember reading something on needing medicals in Croatia at least. Not
sure about Slovenia.

It was a nice place. Nothing like I imagined it was going to be. It's hard
to believe it was ever behind the Iron Curtain. It's pretty cheap too.
