Hello,
I'm thinking about taking a diving trip to Thailand's Similan Islands
at the beginning of November. Some sources say the monsoon season's
over by then; some dive shops have said that at that exact time it's
day-today as to what the weather will be like then.
As I have to book my flight & reserve my spot soon but cannot take the
trip after the beginning of November, I'd like to know if anyone can
give me the odds on clement weather & diving conditions for that 2nd
week of November.
Thanks in advance.

HI Matt
November is peak time. Conditions should be fine by then. All weather is
unpredictable but Thailand's west coast season is in full swing in November
so there is little more you can do to try to avoid bad weather.
All the Thailand liveaboards start operating in october/November so there is
plenty to choose from. You can see here for a good choice of some of the best
Similans trips:

Before you go you can get the best dive sites from
http://www.wannadive.net/spot/Asia/Thailand/Andaman_Sea/index.html
Then we you are back home, post a trip review from your comminity
profile (Dive log & trips). It will help other divers...
Best,
Chris
