Just reading some Hotel reviews for next trip .... Comments from a UK
families trip to Sharm in Oct were interesting -

" ..Fantastic, but take shoes to wear in the water, its very slippy
and both my husband and myself fell and cut ourselves badly on the
coral. ....  The water is shallow warm and clear and I sat for ages on
the smooth coral with big bright fish swimming around me..
The highlights of our holiday were the ...  Swimming with dolphins .
They are at an aquarium. There are 3 dolphins and six people. They say
" Here is dolphin get In"  in a Russian accent! and in you go for half
an hour, they play with, you take you for rides, dance with you, you
kiss you  and make friends with you.   "

Sounds a very ecologically sound holiday.

I agree with you about the dolphins. Reputable businesses such as the
Red Sea College are actively campaigning against the dolphinarium. All
I can suggest is that people support reputable businesses and avoid the
dolphinarium.

As far as walking on the coral goes, I assume they're talking about
walking across the fringing reefs to get to the deeper water. Outside
Naama Bay the reef top (which is all dead due to it being in 300mm
of water or less) extends some way from the shore. Some hotels have
floating walkways which take you out to the reef edge, but not all
of them do.
