Reefcam?

hello,

I spent a week on M.Y. Juliet (Oonas) out of Sharm at the end of May with 13
other buddies. My first liveaboard! Best thing I ever did !!

So to my point.....

On passing the southern tip of Ras Mohamad on our outbound voyage the DM
(Maria) pointed to a solar panel mounted on the top of Shark (and Yolanda)
reef. She said that it powered a webcam positioned down on the reef
somewhere. We weren't scheduled to dive that site until on the return leg so
we made a mental note to go and find the camera when we returned later in
the week.

As it happened we never got round to that area because of other traffic and
a very nice Napoleon Wrasse distracted us (as did a big turtle and a big
barracuda). So, though we had an excellent dive we missed the webcam.

Question: Does anyone know the URL of the webcam? I can't find anything on
Google.
Has anyone found the camera on the reef?

Also of note on this trip was a dive on Thomas reef in Tiran when my buddy
and others saw a Hammerhead Shark which I missed and the DM spotted her
first Whale Shark which I also missed but was photographed by two other
divers.
I need to get a prescription mask perhaps!

I spent the last two weeks of May in Naama Bay, 15 divers and 15 camp
followers.

I dived it twice and forgot about the webcam as soon as I was in the
water.

I would be interested in it too.

Hi!

I was on Whirlwind. We saw quite a lot of you guys during the week! Same
dive sites but you always seemed to be a little ahead of us. I was
impressed.

I have done the North for the last two years and will be heading south for
the better reef diving (IMHO) next time.

Ras Um Sidd! A poxy day boat drove right over my dsmb. :-(( Words of advice
given in anglo saxon!! ;-)))

Didn't see any reefcam!!

Hi Ed.

Thanks for the reply.

Your presence was noted! It was your diesel fumes kept me awake on our first
night spent at the Travco Marina. I remembered it as the Whirlwind that beat
us to the dive sites. "Not the bloody Whirlwind again!"

I'v spent the last two christmases in Sharm and done the local dives to
death. It was nice to get further afield. My highlight was probably 4 dives
on the Thistlegorm. The second of those being a night dive. Even though both
my torches died (one flood and one lamp blew) there was so much light from
the dive platforms on the boats above that I could see quite well!

My club is also now considering a "Southern" itenery for next year.

I do have a soft spot for Ras Um Sid. I stayed at the hotel on the cliff by
the lighthouse there at Christmas, The Club Fanara. So Ras Um Sid was our
house reef. We did our final dive of the Juliet trip there also.
