Mostly dive abroad these days (Red Sea etc). Where can I buy a new, thin,
cheap dry suit to suit the conditions in the colder months? 3 or 4 mil
neoprene available? Or better membrane???

How about you stick with a wetsuit? Ultimately lighter to pack (no
undersuits required) and no fifth hose on your 1st stage for the inflator
(less to go wrong). A flooded drysuit can spoil your trip, no such
considerations for a wetsuit.

Try a one piece 3mm or 5mm with an undervest such as at www.chillcheater.com

Your mobility will be greater than in a dry suit, and it will be cheaper to
replce and repair.

I just bought a WaterProof Lynxx 5mm semi-dry after using one in
Fuerteventura ... these are superb for moderate sea temperatures 15 degrees
or so.
