Hello Group,

I am in the process of purchasing an Inland scuba park and need some
input on the best design of restrooms, showers, lockers ect. I am
looking for all type of ideas. If you had the opportunity to design a
scuba park how would you do it? It has a nice clear lake and a modest
dive shop but the restrooms and showers need total rehab.

Also, any ideas to attract customers and pricing that you feel
comfortable with i.e.. tank refill, dive fee, non-diver fee ect.

Does your non-diving family come with you and if so what accommodations
are you looking for?

I cant say what park it is now, but I will shortly. Its located in the
Center of the USA.

Thanks,

Curtis Corum

I guess closer to where we all are would help.

I forgot to mention we do have a few regular posters for that side of the
pond. But from their posts I think most of them are sane. unlike ...  please
fill in the gap.

The showers should be installed in a way that the act of
showering sends water from above the divers head in a
direction perpendicular to a line drown from one side of the
horizon to the other.

I don't know wether this holds at the southern hemisphere,
though.

Matthias

PS:
Reminder:
It's a good idea to have a something were divers may clean
their boots from sand, debris, fuzz.

Hint: google for "tauchparadies Ibbenbueren"

Just asking for some ideas, I was assuming that just because your not
coming to the usa anytime soon, you still might have some good ideas!

Solid gold taps (easily dismountable) and women of easy virtue. Best
have some blokes of easy virtue as well for the lasses.

To make it worthwhile to go from here on a scuba diving holiday it must have
(for me);

Excellent viz
Warm water (20ºC or warmer)
No great distance to walk between kitting up and water's edge
Loads to look at and explore under water - natural stuff rather than just
old cars / vans / helicopters etc. Some interesting fresh water life, with
loads of plants.
Credible depths
Large enough so as never to develop "diver soup"
Value for money on-site food outlets and accommodation
Secure place for storage and drying of gear
Near an airport with cheap connections to the UK,

Can you match or beat £100 ($150) per day overall cost over a week, this
being 2-3 dives per day? That's the cost of going to the Red Sea where all
of the above apply, except read sea water instead of fresh.
