Help, I cannot get PP to run on my pc. PC is running Windows XP (SP2).
Everytime I try to run it I get an error telling me that
Windows\system32\autoexec.nt ..................is not suitable for running
MS-DOS applications.
I have tried running in compatibility mode...same result! Anybody got any
clues? Many thanks
I put the message into google and it came back with

I'm sure there are many who have had similar problems

You probably don't want to hear this, but ditch potplanner and run
something else instead and that will fix your problems. GAP or Decoplan
would be a distinct improvement.

<shrug>
Runs for me in full screen MSDOS mode (Alt-Enter in a DOS window).
It's the old DOS graphics that are the problem. The thing is showing
its age. I only use it to guess what the VR3 is going to do.

Probably the reason most of us never saw his original post.
A binary attachment in a non binary group so straight in the
trash for any usenet system set up half way decently.

Or DDPLAN :-)

It is/was an inline uuencoded GIF file. (Fascinating, not seen anyone
do that for some time!!!)
The content was a graphical "smiley", although the word "evil" in its
name ought to give a clue as to the content.
I suspect it was there to let the OP give a "Grrrr" effect to his
posting. Or maybe even )-: in plain-text ...
If you really want to see it, go to http://lion.drogon.net/icon_evil.gif
And now I've typed more than the original few lines of the encoded GIF
file. Ho hum. It's a slow day.

Same problem with mine...easy solution?
I copied and pasted the 'error report'into google. It came backwith a
site that had 2 answers
1) was loads of changes in the registry
2) was a downloadable patch...worked first time.
I have posted the link to DeltaP.
I will happily joint live electric cables...but I aint fecking with the
registry, tried it once and caused some unpleasantness!!

It runs fine with DOSBOX, a free Dos emulator.
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/
Start DOSBOX.
Assume that you have proplanner is c:\proplanner
At DOSBOX type:
mount c:\ c:\proplanner
Then type:
c:\
PRES RETURN
Then type:
plan.bat
And it will work as before, and you can increase the CPU speed with CTRL F12

Cheers Tony problem solved! Thanks everyone for the rest of the comments
