Hi Guys.
Thanks for the previous input.
But I am having terrible trouble deciding on a hotel for our Christmas
Diving Holiday.
As you may have read before.
We a family of 4 are doing a PADI course here in the UK and want to do the
Open Water in Sharm el Sheikh.
We would like a beach hotel with minimal travelling from hotel to jetties.
Any recommendations??
Regards

No specific one, but get yourself an hotel with a jetty of its own as the
shoreline is now all the property of the hotels. No public access anywhere
in town. The alternative, ruled out by your question, is to travel a long
way to beyond the limits of the built-up area either north east towards
Dahab / Taba, or into Ras Mo park by road.

Hi there
I'll try if i can remember the names of the Hotels, i worked in Sharm el
Sheikh as an instructor last year.
Any descent Dive Center will pick you up in the morning,
Here is the list as i remember it:
Mövenpick
Hilton Farouz (cant remember spelling)
Ocean Bay (about 10 min walk from jetty) (with own dive center)
Sharm Holiday 15 min walk from jetty
There are some VERY close to the jetty, but i can't remember the names.
Hope this helps a bit.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza last year. Very nice hotel, right on Far
Garden which I think is the best of the sites local to Sharm. There's
a diving centre there run by Divers International (I think) who will
probably be able to do your qualifying dives as shore dives from the
hotel. Naama Bay is 6km away - if you book with Divers International
they'll run you into town and back.
