Hi looking to buy a Camera and housing.

Is there a FAQ on this subject, e.g. ideas on what to look for when
buying

Anyone know of any websites that would give a beginner ideas on buying
a camera.

Depending on what you're looking to spend, you might find a compact
Canon camera and housing might do you - http://www.cameras2u.com have a
range of housings for £100 to £150. http://www.steves-digicams.com/ is a
good general review site.

Don't forget to get a big memory card-you'll want to be able to take
loads underwater and delete when you can see them.
