Hi all I'm off to Oahu, Hawaii in August for 10 days, can anyone recommend a
good centre scuba centre on the island to dive with, cheers Mark

Alasdair probably can if he's still reading this ng.

I've only dived Maui and Lanai. There's some details at

Actually I've not dived off Oahu, most of my diving out in Hawaii has
been from the Big Island.

Yup, I'm still around, although I currently don't have easy access to a
news server so posting is somewhat difficult. I'm also in L.A. of all
places...

Actually next month I'm going to be a lot more than half way, I'm out
in Japan for a couple of weeks, and the in Hawaii for a month and a
bit. It's turned into a bad year for "being in the country" all things
considered! However, this means that I'm not getting much diving in,
from the looks of things I doubt I'll get any diving in the UK at all
this year, which will be the first time for about 10 years, considering
I normally do one to two hundred a year, that isn't very good.

Of course I'll probably get twenty or thirty dives in when I'm in
Hawaii, but it's not the same...

So you are comming to my current home. Though I havent dived here more
than 3 times due to cost and water temp. I will soon have to again as I
will be reviewing a nice inexpensive video light.

I dived with Alex Mason and AAA diving - top bloke and had some great

I dived off Oahu a few years ago with Alex Mason of AAA Diving he's
English and a good laugh, Try to go and do the Cosair it's a world war
2 fighter plane lying on a sandy bottom in 32m it's intact the pilot
ran out of fuel and put it down on the water where it sank, just watch
out for the moray that lives in the cockpit if he's still there that
