I've seen freedivers use shampoo in bottles to help them get in to their
rubber suits. Other use KY Jelly - avalable by the litre in Vet/Farming
supplies shops for under 2 quid. (Eg. Mole Valley Farmers if you are in the
SW)

As per Gordons suggestion, vetlube works really well. Just don't push
so hard when you go through the seals - you could come out the other
side!

I use it to get out of the suit as well.

Try wearing a plastic carrier bag over your feet/hands as you put the
suit on.  Makes getting into a tight suit a breeze.

But there is a commercial remedy - it's called "water based lubricant"
- and goes by various trade names - eg. KY Jelly and so on. However,
if you buy it in the chemists or a dive shop it'll cost you an arm and
a leg, so get the generic stuff out of a vet/farm type shop.

Fairy liquid mixed with water does the trick too.

No idea if its the same stuff, but a lot of shops sell a spray that is very
good for getting in and out of seals.  Certainly works on drysuit seals, so
no reason it shouldn't help on a wetsuit... just need more of it!  See for
example the second item on this page:
http://www.divingdirectshop.co.uk/acatalog/ADHESIVES.html
Also http://www.deepbluedive.com/product.aspx?id=10138 who do free delivery
which is very useful for small cheap items like that.
Right kind of thing?  Not the cheapest stuff in the world but for drysuit
seals the small 2fl. oz. spray i've got at the minute has lasted around 150
dives so far and still around half full.
