Hi all,

My buddy and I are looking to book Dive Eclipse out of Selsey on
Tuesday 5 October to do the NAB tower (around 12ish) and Mulberry
harbour (night dive 1830ish). There's 3 of us so far, we need at least
one more to make this a goer. Anyone interested?

but not many ribs take your tea or coffee order before you dive so its ready
when you finish. It is the only rib Ive been on that I would enjoy going on
again.

might be worth trying Pete.

He can make all the drinks he likes, but I wouldn't set foot on that
boat if you paid me.

is it the lack of a lift to get out of the water  that you object to ?
just curious as to where the problem is.

No lift?

Get in off the beach?

It's a rib?

Well apart from that lot, I really don't know where to start. Well I
do really, but I won't.

As RIB diving goes it is the best boat to do it on.  But if you are not a
RIB diver then why slate the setup?  It is like saying Stoney Cove is a
sh1thole, but in the winter if you want to go training, where is better
inland?

I'm sure the diving OFF it is fine, as is all the diving on the Sussex
Coast.

And I'm sure that dragging your kit down the beach at Selsey is great.
Gone are the days when I checked my regs for pebbles off that beach.

But for just a couple of quid extra (locally), and less money
(Penzance) you can go out on a hard boat from a Marina/harbour.

And, if you are doing deep techie stuff, many cylinders, with a
camera, a rib off a beach is totally unsuitable.

Wind up aside, this is the point really, RIB diving is relatively
straight forward within the recreational range.  Extended range stuff
requires too much effort when doing it from a RIB.

I have done a 93m dive off a RIB, although we did have a hardboat as backup :)

Yeah but you are double hard.  I am one of those people that is happy
to let someone else hump their kit around.  Fortunately, one of my
buddies is a brickie and he just isn't happy if he's not humping
something around (usually it's a heavy pint of Guinness).

All,
Can we drop this one?

Pete and I go back about 8 years, we fell out for personal reasons some time
ago. Its personal - and does not need to be discussed on this or any other
forum!

Pete, thank you for being reserved  - much appreciated.

Cheeky git.

I could give a list of keywords for you to piece together. Or maybe I
could use short phrases? That would be fun wouldn't it?

Now where shall I start?

Can't do Oct 5th, but the dive-eclipse site lets you book a dive with
fewer than the required number and then if anyone else fancies it
they'll book on.
