Based on others experiences what are the average costs for eating
out/drinking etc if you travel to Egypt on B&B basis?
Obviously it will vary, but as a guide what were others spending ?/day

Just got back from a week in Hurghada.
Shitty place, the town centre, but the diving was good.
Lunch on the boat cost 20 Egyptian pounds/day. All diving was by day boat
as the dive sites are usually an hour or more away. Beer is 8 Egptian pounds
for a large bottle, coke about the same price in a bar (or half that in a
shop). Cigarettes are about 10 Egyptian pounds a packet. I went half board,
so didn't buy much food, but I expect dinner shouldn't be more than about
50 Egyptian pounds. A taxi will cost 10-15 Egyptian pounds each way per taxi
from your hotel to the town centre (pay only 1 or 2 pounds each if you share
a mini-bus). They *will* try to rip you off - don't fall for any tricks with
50 pence notes (yes, it's all notes, no coins - take a fat wallet). Everyone
will want tipping for everything. I hear Sharm is a much nicer place than
Hurghada but my friend is a kite surfer so we had to go to Hurghada.
We only spent about 600 Egytian pounds each in a week, half board. But then
we were staying half board and were ill (with the usual stomach problems).
The exchange rate is approximately 10 Egyptian pounds to 1 pound sterling.
The exchange rate is better in Egypt on arrival at the airport than in the
UK so wait before arriving before you change your money. There are a few
cash machines in town, but they're not scattered everywhere like over here.
