A foolproof method for sculpting an Elephant:
First, get a huge block of marble. Then, chip away
everything that doesn't look like an Elephant.

Ditto. I'm hardly going to buy a magazinr that didn't ship me the free
issue they promised. I can't page through it in the news agents (not that
I really go into news agents anymore), so I'm not going to buy a copy on
spec am I?

No - it did happen. I emailed Leigh Bishop a couple of times, which he
passed on to Ron, who sorted it out. I then sent my subscription cheque in
and have received the 2nd and 3rd issues without a problem.

Did you try contacting them directly to ask what happened?

They've done fine so far.

You gave them money in advance after what happened last time? I guess
you could argue that it is a different team but not receiving the
first edition make me err on the side of caution. Therefore, think
i'll pass on that one.

I contacted them twice. I never received any reply from Ron (Leigh
was very helpful but ultimately it is not his baby). Finally, I gave
up. No big loss to me really.

I am glad you have had more success than me.

No they have not. If it was a horse race they fell at fence 1.
