I may be going to Malta in September. I was wondering what the diving was
like.

Hi,

Malta has very interesting divesites (wrecks etc.), but personally I
prefer Gozo. Most dives you can do from the land and you do not need a
boat.

If you have CMAS ** (PADI Rescue) or higher you just rent tank and
weights and you can dive on your own (I did it with Calypso Diving
Centre, Hotel Calypso, Marsalforn Bay, Gozo, MALTA, Tel.:(356)
562000).

It also has good swimthroughs and caves.  Fish life is not like a coral reef
but I saw plenty of fish (however friends who went at other times were
disappointed with the fish).  It was very cheap however.
