There is one dive shop in Nevis, and it's on Oualie Beach, the northern tip
of the island. They are competent, but the owner/DM was a bit too
lighthearted for my personal taste. He's a pro, though. The diving is
pretty good; I saw a snake eel which is rare. The divecons tend to move the
group quickly around the reefs though, which don't allow much of a chance to
search for smaller reef dwellers.
The snorkeling at Oualie Beach is fair to middling; it's mostly grass flats,
but it's a nice way to pas the time especially if you're staying at the
Oualie Beach Hotel which has an excellent staff IMHO. Tarpon occasionally
prowl the flats there.
For more information on St. Kitts and Nevis, go to http://www.nevis1.com and
surf around for the link to the reader's forum. It's a top-notch resource
with people who either live there or visit often.

Each to their own, I really like the service at Oualie Beach. Very informal,
a couple of years ago the owner's car wasn't working so he rode a horse to
the dive shop.

Once they saw I wasn't getting into all that humor, they mellowed out and
took care of business. I'd use them again.
I should also mention they're the only scuba shop on the island.
