I will be in the Boynton Beach/Boca Rotan area May 01-08/04 and was
wondering if anyone had any recommendations for dive shops to use for a few
two tank trips out to the reef/wrecks in the area?   My wife and I will have
all our equipment with us, except tanks and weights.

Thanks in advance!

PS: Water temps this time of year?   I don't get cold easily, and wondering
if my 3mil shorty will be enough?

I always use Capt.Leo on the Deeper or Lil Deeper out of Boynton.

But tere are several other very good boats running out of the same
marina. There is a dive shop and air station right at the dock as well,
not to mention a pretty good restaurant for dinner.

That show Ron mentions is Splashdown Divers, Lynn's Simmons operation.
She's the preferred captain for most of those in this group that dive
Boynton.  If it were not for the fact that those I dive with in the Boynton
area are fairly loyal to Lynn, I'd probably chose Leo for wrecks.  Lynn, and
her customers, seem to prefer reefs.

For a northerner... Shorty will not be a problem.  Water temps are back
in high 70s.    If you want to come a bit further south, go to undersea
sports in Fort lauderdale.  They can set you up with some great wreck
diving from 130' to 60'.

I go there a few times a year, and use Splashdown in Boynton because
that's who the locals I dive with use. I have been happy with her. I
haven't been out with Deeper, but the two guys who recommend him are
solid and their recommendations have been spot on for me.

For an entertaining time and some really good diving in Pompano Beach,
try Miss Conduct http://members.tripod.com/~missconduct/ with Conrad
Nix.
