I'm looking to find a nice place in the Caribbean in October.  I've
done Roatan and Cozumel and loved them both.  We will be traveling
with a couple who do not dive.  Any recommendations would be greatly
appreciated.  We are looking for a place that:

1.  Is beautiful and relaxing
2.  Interesting and enjoyable for divers and nondivers.
3.  Warm weather/warm clear, water.
4.  Safe for infants (both couples have newborns)
5.  Would like a place to unwind.

Thanks in advance.

Grand Cayman would likely fit your needs.  Not the cheapest place on earth,
mind you!

Bonaire fits you requirements, as long as the non diving couple like
remote rustic places where there in no nightlife.

Grand cyman is good but very expensive.

Thanks for all the input.  Neither couples are necessarily "party
animals."  We're more into kicking back in a tropical environment with
a drink and some good conversation.  Is Bonaire green and beautiful?
How is the night diving?  I would also prefer a place that is not too
touristy.

Marc.

Bonaire is arid and spiny...............But if you rent a car you get
to see the salt dunes, the slave houses, a lot of catci, a lot of
birds (including the world famous flamingos), you can see the beauty
of the Reserve......rent a 4x4 for a day... for that I enjoyed it very
much..got to use my driving skills in the outback...great snorkeling
and Scuba out on the reserve.

Night diving will be probably the best you ever had in Bonaire.

Good luck

My wife (non diver but snorkeller) and I went to Grenada last October with
my son who was finishing PADI MSD qualification. Rated diving highly
(especially wreck diving) and we enjoyed it so much we are all going back in
September. Nice weather and good vis, the island is small and interesting
for trips out. Having survived in Jamaica for 3 years we found the
Grenadians friendly and open. Always thought we would choose Caymans for a
holiday but put off by being so diving oriented and also recent comments re
deterioration in fish and coral conditions compared to the good ol' days.

I was also in Martinique on a business trip last year and whilst I did not
dive, the French Caribbean angle was different again.
