Can someone recommend some good spots and outfits in Maui for diving and/or
snorkeling?

I recommend getting a copy of "Snorkel Maui and Lanai" -- has very detailed
descriptions of snorkeling spots around the islands. Describes how scenic
the site is, how difficult it is, and gives detailed maps & directions to
each site.

Was just there in December. I can recommend going to Ahihi bay in the
south part of Wailea if you want to do a shore dive. Nice coral, quite
a few turtles & fish.

Lots of shore diving. Molokini is great, but crowded. These guys are a
class act: www.scubashack.com

For shore diving, which can be very good here on Maui, check out
www.mauidreamsdiveco.com - they're "shore diving specialists", and a good
group of folks to boot...
