I didn't know that travel agents made money from air fare unless they
charged the client to make the booking. At least not now. They used
to I know, but I think the airlines stopped paying a commission to
travel agents a long time ago. So I don't quite see how she would
profit especially if she posted the AA website (I didn't actually read
the initial post).

Close enough. Her intent in advertising the AA special here is
obviously to make money by drawing people to her commercial website.
That's the true premise involved, regardless of the specifics.
