Sorry, Dennis.  This guy makes your stuff look professional.

Hey, Marshall?  Hint:  hold the camera steady or we'll all get as
seasick as you obviously were.  Is the current and surge so bad in
Gilboa that you can't take decent footage, or do you have advanced
Parkinson's?

A little harsh, Greg. I was amazed at how good the viz was, but I was
bothered by the reflection of the video camera lens in the housing
port. That can't be right...

That's OK.  Marshall's used to it, I'm sure.  Maybe he's using a DIY
housing?

I've shot a fair amount of video in places with strong conditions like
Indonesia and Cocos where it can be hard to hold a housing still
against the current.  I've also shot in easy conditions like the
Belize Atolls, where holding the housing steady is as easy as diving
there.  I was surprised to find out that the conditions in a quarry
mirror the tough Pacific conditions.  Maybe that's why I've always
been hesitant to dive in a quarry.

Hi George,

Truthfully, I threw this video together as I was doing experimental things.
First of all, I got the red filter for the housing and used that for the
first time.  I believe that is where the lens reflection came in, so better
I go back to no filter.  Next experiment was using Google Earth in the
video.  The last experiment was using my son's MacBook and Final Cut to edit
it.  Anyway, I switched back to my Windows PC and used Pinnacle Studio like
my other ones.

And yes, Greg, I know I was not holding the video camera steady.  This was
supposed to be the first of two dives that day and I was scouting locations
and shots.  Anyway, my dive buddy developed a sinus squeeze problem and this
was our only dive that day there.

Anyway, it's out there for people who have never been to Gilboa to get a
preview.
