If the Italians can prosecute in abstentia, so can we. Or Gummy and I can perform our own sort of "extraordinary rendition" (aka kidnapping).

I had pizza in Locarno, just up the lake from Italy, but wasn't too impressed, and our pizza stop in Amsterdam was mainly to get out of the rain for a bit (we got hit by a sudden frigid downpour and the door to the pizza joint was right there). That pizza was also decent, but nothing like a Frank Pepe's.

In any case, when in Rome...Hostaria L'orso 80

What's up with all these Italians nowadays?

Here's the exteror facade...

Also, the house wines are quite nice...no reason to get fancy.

I find myself spending less money going out for dinner in Europe, except a few pricey fine-dining experiences. In the more casual settings, we could get a very nice meal at a decent price and wash it down with a decent cheap wine - something we don't do in the U.S. since cheap wine here means undrinkable insipid crap.

I've got to admit, Guido's (nee Pizza Reynalda) is excellent.
