Looking for a new place to go.  We Really enjoyed Akumal, Mexico.  We
felt safe there.  There were good places to dive and snorkel.  Good
stores for food, good places to stay, good dive companys.  Wonderful
local people.  We liked Ambergris Caye, Belize.  All of the above but
the diving was much better.  A little too develped.

My wife and I want to go some place on the planet for a month.  A lot of
light, great visibility, abundant colorful fish of many varieties, safe
from Bandits, safe places to eat.  Kind of the best of both world's
where our quarters are clean and comfortable but there are local people
with a village nearby instead of being "all touristy" with a bunch of
drunk white people.  We couldn't even bring ourselves to drive through
Cancun (which seemed like the same United States I was trying to escape
from).  Typically we end up playing with little local kids or snorkling,
but we do love to dive.  We bring our own gear.  THANKS.

South Florida, beginning in West Palm and ending in the Dry Tortugas.

Nevermind

This is the 21st century.  What you're looking for no longer exits, if it
ever did.

I know of several places in Florida where, with the right preparation, you
can have a quiet, peaceful safe and thoroughly enjoyable time snorkeling and
diving.  If you want nice places to eat and someone to drive the dive boat
for you, you're going to have to settle for touristy locations.  You only
get tourist amenities in tourist areas.  Sorry.

Charter or buy a boat, something over 30 feet with it's own generator, water
maker, compressor, etc. and spend your month touring the Bahamas.  Bring
your checkbook and your credit cards.
