Was thinking of learning to dive in Utila, Honduras in
October/November, but have heard this might not be the best time of
year (rainy season).  Any idea of somewhere else in Central America
which is better suited to this time of year (and preferably still
quite cheap)?

If not, how bad the climate is in Honduras for these months?

This subject has been beaten to death here and elsewhere. Best advice? Use
Google Groups.

The Bay Islands are theoretically South of the hurricane belt (just ask my
old pal Mitch), but can suffer the rains from the tropical storms spin off.
It will be the "end" of the rainy season.

If that's your vacation time frame, go and enjoy. Be prepared for warm fresh
water showers provided by the heavens... or maybe not.

If you want "for sure" weather, place your best bets on April-May.
