I met a guy while diving last year and he said he had been diving from a location south of Hurgada  and still in Egypt and that he liked it very much.  Does anyone know anything about which place this might be and what can you tell me about this spot.  How do you get there and are there any liveabords there?  Any info willo be appreciated.  Thanks  Pat

Even more probably it's Marsa Alam which is south of Hurgada and not east.
It has an airport, some hotels, tents and liveaboards.
Wadi Lahami is a possibility and Safaga and El Quesir are also south of
Hurghada.
Google is your friend :-)

I have a feeling that your talking about Marsa Alam.....on the Egyptian
mainland but further south than Hurgada, there are direct flights from the
Uk now i understand, i think it is getting popular........more
divers.....and then come the tourists, do it now before it gets sp[oilt.

Almost certainly Marsa Alam, from where you can take a liveaboard to
Fury Shoal, St. Johns, Rocky Island, and Daedelus & Elphinstone are
simpler than from Hurghada.
