Just got off from a 15.5 hour nostop flight from ATL on Korean Air,
waiting for the connecting flight to Auckland, NZ.  (Strange; the
KAL hub thing, I presume).   Just testing the internet support at
the KAL Lounge.

The Lounge has much better free food and beverage than
Continental's (KAL pardner) President's Club.   It was strange the
clerk wouldn't admit me on my President's Club card (which costs
hundreds of bucks a year), but let me in on CO's Platinum card
(which costs nothing).   I think she made a mistake.

At any rate, it's 7 pm here in Seoul, and 5 am Eastern US time.

No mistake.  KAL clubs don't reciprocate with President's Clubs.  Only
Northwest and (recently) Delta do that.

You got admitted because you're flying KAL and your Platinum card makes you
a Skyteam Elite Plus member, entitling you to enter the club of any Skyteam
airline you're flying on (international flights only), even if you're flying
coach.  The "benefit" for regular Skyteam Elite (which includes CO Silver
and Gold elites) only allows for club admittance with a business- or
first-class ticket which isn't much of a benefit at all since the airlines
already do this for business or first-class flyers.  Enjoy your remaining
Platinum benefits while they last.

"International First and Business Class passengers as well as SkyTeam Elite
Plus members traveling in Economy Class enjoy complimentary access to most
SkyTeam partner lounges worldwide. Simply present your same-day ticket for
an international SkyTeam airline flight. As a SkyTeam Elite Plus passenger,
you can even invite a guest to join you in the lounge."

Jer is short for "jerk", right?

It's two air travellers sharing information about airline lounges that
other
scuba travellers may not know about -- as I didn't, and I've travelled
over
600,000 air miles the last 6 years.

If don't give a sh.t, all you have to do is keep your mouth shut, like
the
rest of the folks in rec.scuba.locations.

600K miles?  I can't tell if you're bragging or complaining - maybe both?

I suppose I would if I thought I was under some sort of twisted
obligation to abide someone else's preferences.  I'm not.  Get over it.

Bragging or complaining?

Perhaps it's too much for you to recognize it as merely a statement of
FACT, about my frequency of air travel, mostly to dive locations?

Fact:  CO Platinum 7 years in a row;  each year required air travel of
         75K PAID miles on CO.

Fact:  in 2004, counting the free air travel miles and those paid
travel
         on non-CO airlines, I travelled 149,000+ miles.

Just repeat what you said TO YOURSELF!    And repeat it often.

Another statement of FACT.   Not like the "jerk", aka jer, all he does
in
rec.scuba forums is complain about cruise ships, in Cozumel, without
a shread of evidence about what they do, or don't do, to the diving
environment.

For a jerK, why should you ever let FACTS get in your way?

And all these facts are supposed to matter to me or anybody else around
here because.....?  Are we expected to confer some sort of specialness
upon Reef Bobby?  Not.

The only reason I'm in this thread is because you were shooting off your
mouth.  And while you may be special to some, you're just a schmuck
diver like me and just about everyone else I've seen around here (not
that there's anything wrong with that).  I just figured you ought to
realize there's at least one schmuck diver out here that isn't impressed
with your flight schedule or any damn card you wave around so you can go
inside your special little lizard lounge to strut your sh.t.

You're certainly entitled to your own opinion, because just like me,
everybody's got one.

Wrong, jer the jerK.   You're here jerKing off your sh.t because you
have
nothing better to do.

Him too?  I thought I was the only one who did that.

Don't be so quick to claim the credit for something that belonged to
others.  In the event jerK is unable to serve out his term as the
JerK (or j.rkoff; or jerKopf) of rec.scuba.locations, jerK's unfinished
term will be held by "bendover" ben brad; before your are eligible for
it.

This is a diving ng so let's get this back on topic.  Did you see any
fish?

Tell that to those "Dear John" contributors.

Those prolific cross-posters don't even read their own posts much less see
any fish.

Really?  I saw lots of red herrings in that thread.

This is a scuba.LOCATIONS ng.   And how do you get to those
locations?   I go to 95%+ of mine by flying.

A Google search on "airport airlines" and other air travel topics,
entirely, posted by Dan Bracuk in this group, indicated you did the
same, especially on posts unrelated to any specific diving.

As for "on topic" as a rec.scuba.locations complaint, you jest.

I saw lots of fish, of various species.  Unfortunately fish is one of
my least favorite seafood.   I prefer shrimp, lobsters and other
crustaceans.
