morgand@cix.compulink.co.uk - 03 Jan 2006 14:22 GMT Just back from diving Lembeh & Manado, great diving at Lembeh, not so great (for me anyway) on Bunaken. When i get time i will post a more detailed report on the diving at both resorts on the diving, the resorts, the country etc.

morgand@cix.compulink.co.uk - 05 Jan 2006 08:23 GMT I have put a few photo's from our recent Christmas trip to Sulawesi on my web site, for those interested the link is below...........
http://www.seatreker.com/Sulawesi.htm
They are straight out of the camera, no touching up, i did have problems with the lighting on a lot of photo's, that was down to my inexperience with strobes i think, i have a lot of good photo's but plenty of poor ones too, these are some of the better ones.

Not even cropping? And yet everything is so centered.
We all have plenty of poor photos. Fortunately, with digital, it doesn't cost us anything to find out they were poor. Not like with film.
Dan Bracuk If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure.
morgand@cix.compulink.co.uk - 06 Jan 2006 12:46 GMT > Very nice pictures. No touch-ups? Not even cropping? And yet > everything is so centered. No touch ups no, yes i had to resize them, i may have "cropped" the Pygmy Sea Horse but that is not "touching up" is it ??????? certainly not enhanced. Not that there is anything wrong with that anyway, i was simply saying that what i saw is what you got.
It was the second time i had used the camera, i was pleased with those results and keen to get them on my site even if its not finished.

Put some more foto's up last night........ http://www.seatreker.com/Nudibranch%20Page.htm
I have yet to link these pictures to larger pic's, some of the nudibranches are extremely small and will need enlarging so that you can see them.......i'll do that when i get time.

Dan Bracuk - 12 Jan 2006 00:16 GMT : Put some more foto's up last night........ : http://www.seatreker.com/Nudibranch%20Page.htm You took a ruler diving with you? Nice photos, by the way.

Yes, because sometimes it helps to give some indication as the size of these tiny creatures, there is one Nudibranch there that is positively minuscule.....lteraly millimetres......amazing.
The photos......the last trip was my second trip with the camera so i am still on a learning curve there, i have recently had some advice on how to improve my settings so i am itching to get back in some warm water.......sadly the thought of getting into some cold quarry here in the UK does not appeal to either me or my wife anymore.

As for the nudibranchs, wow! I don't know how you can even find some of those little guys. I'd have to be passing right over them as I viewed through my magnifying glass, otherwise I'd miss them altogether. Is there some sort of trick or magic or signs or something?

She knows what she is looking for now, she will spot a particular type of sponge and know that X Y or Z lives there......or a Whip Coral and know that a particular crab lives on that........so its just a matter of looking in the right places really......and the pygmy sea horse lives on a sea fan........see ...its easy......
> Is > there > some sort of trick or magic or signs or something? Yea.....the signs are the Coral, the plants themselves...... I am just so pleased with myself as two weeks ago i did'nt even know what HTML was...........i was frustrated at having to wait for people who said they would "have a look" when i asked about putting a website together for me.........i thought i would be better just doing it myself......now i can make changes as i think of them...........i cant wait to get in some warm water again and take some more photo's......instead i'm stuck here at work, in the cold and wet UK........

morgand@cix.compulink.co.uk - 17 Jan 2006 08:50 GMT > Good for you. Did you already have FrontPage or did you go out and > buy it? To cut a long story short.........i had a web site done for me a few years ago, but lost it due to one thing or another.....and i wanted to get one back up and running, i have a friend who to be fair is very busy with his own projects, he gives me snippets now and again, i booked and paid for a web design course at a local colledge but they cancelled that the night before it was to start because of lack of interest, I was asking around for someone to do it etc and i found a guy in our IT dept who was wrewriting our company intranet, having registered a domain name he created one home page me. Frontpage was allready on my PC but i had never fired it up.....i downloaded a "free" ftp program which is childs play to use. Started writing text and copied two photo's from the original page, messed about with the html and saw a pattern.......experimented with the tool bars etc and hey presto.......take a look now i have been re'doing the index page and trying to get some uniformity to the site......
Does it look better now ???????

:Does it look better now ??????? I didn't notice any difference. If you want opinions though, all in all it is very nice. To improve it further, 1. Don't link to the home page from the home page. 2. Change the font for the word "to" at the top.
Did you try any of the tutorials and htmlgoodies.com?

I must say you also have me quite curious as to what happened to you at Bunaken.

Nothing "happened"...........it was just.......well, disappointing really. The dive operation was good, the hotel was great, food good, the diving i found to be nothing different to so many places. I guess i am spoilt a little, we thought we would see more than we did. Will write in more detail when i get chance.
