I'm sorry but there's no such animal in Palawan. However, I would recommend
El Nido, on the low end, relatively speaking. And the the ultimate, I would
go to Amanpulo.
We spent our time while we were there at the Kokosnuss, but there are
a number of small places more in "town". It is a very small place
which doesn't seem to get that many tourists. We had a great time
diving there however. The wrecks were great but don't expect any type
of luxury because it doesn't exist. Depending on what time of year you
go it may be better to not book ahead. If you booked ahead at the
Kokosnuss you paid more than those who just showed up. There is also
the Kalamayan Inn and another small hotel on the wharf that I can't
recall the name.
I have a few pictures if you want to see them at:

and a trip report:

Let me know if you need more info. Email me directly, I don't read the
newgroups that often.
Mark.
