Lots of them.  All a ferry ride away.

LOL, thanks.
Was asking for a friend, and that was what we figured would be the
best option.  Of course once they take the ferry ride is there any
individual operations that you personally would dive with.

Yes, one that caters to day trippers.  Two that I have dove with are
Caballito del Caribe,  http://www.seahorsecozumel.com/  and Seafaris.

Another alternative is to book through the agents in the hotel lobby
in Cancun.

I heartily endorse Dan's recommendation of Caballito del Caribe,
especially
booking it with an agent in Cancun, unless you're an old hand at day
trips
to Coz from Cancun.

Caballito has a number of different Cancun to Cozumel day-trip scuba
packages.   They all include transportation, with pick up by the dive
shop
of divers directly at the ferry (Cozumel side) at approx 10 am.  The
dive
packages are varied, from 1 to 3 tanks, with or without lunch as part
of
the package.
