Hello Group,

I am in the process of purchasing an Inland scuba park and need some
input on the best design of restrooms, showers, lockers ect. I am
looking for all type of ideas. If you had the opportunity to design a
scuba park how would you do it? It has a nice clear lake and a modest
dive shop but the restrooms and showers need total rehab.

Also, any ideas to attract customers and pricing that you feel
comfortable with i.e.. tank refill, dive fee, non-diver fee ect.

Does your non-diving family come with you and if so what accommodations
are you looking for?

I cant say what park it is now, but I will shortly. Its located in the
Center of the USA.

How about some more info, are you going to have camping ? will you have
good food available ?
How about lockers or a storage room with hangers ? nite diving ?
Divers have lots of varied needs, but we need more info on what you intend
to do.

I will have night diving, I am looking at lockers but not sure what
will work. I am assuming a locker 24in x 24in deep should be adequate.
Not sure so thats why I am asking for input. Camping is available and
eventually some rental rv's to sleep in. I intend to do what the people
want!

What level of service do you want to provide?

Barstow's (aka Windy Point Private or just plain Scuba Park) offers
outdoor open showers (no stripping down) and open top (but modesty
capable) changing areas for men and women. They have a row of
portapotties that are service Friday morning and Monday morning.
Plenty of camping area, picnic tables by the lake front and those
"barbecue" grills on a post. No real dive shop but a huge fill
station. Oh yeah, plenty of stairs and four platforms for skills. And
lots of sunken stuff, including two 25' sailboats and a Pinto.

$5/day Monday-Thursday, $10 a day on weekends. Camping is $10 a tent
on weekends, free Monday-Thursday. Instructors and divemasters get in
free with students.

What the heck is a "non-diving family". You mean there are actually
people who don't dive?

Curtis: If you want an example of how a very successful water park
operates, for divers and non divers as well, check out
www.dutchsprings.com. It's located in PA and attracts many hundreds of
divers each week.
