I just got my intinerary for a Little Cayman trip, and on the way
home, we have a 5 hour layover in Grand Cayman.  So I want to rent a
car.

If I remember correctly, there are no car rental agencies at the
airport.  That being the case, I am looking for someone who delivers.
Anyone ever pulled this off?

Dan,

Here is a partial list of agencies at the GCM Airport (on the
airport property a very short walk from the terminal).  There may be others.

Andy's, Marshalls, Avis, Coconut Car Rental and Budget.

Dan,

For a rental car, starting from the Grand Cayman airport's airline
check-in counters:

1. turn around and walk 30 feet to the glass wall that has the
terminal's entrance doors.

2. Have your SO stay here and watch the luggage.

3. Exit the bilding, and turn left before the terminal's passenger
drop-off/pickup lane. 5 feet,

4.  Walk up the sidewalk, parallelling the road  approx. 100 or so feet
to the street corner.

5. Cross the street. 20 feet.

6. Pass through the row of cars parked here, while heading towards the
strip mall building that's along the left side of a slightly larger
parking lot.

50 feet or so from the road you crossed is the front door to CICO Avis,
which IIRC is first business on the left.  There's others here too.

7. Walk to the counter and Rent the car. 12 feet. Take the short route
back to the exit door: 5 feet.

8. Walk out into parking lot & get in car.  38 feet, on average.

9. Drive back around to the terminal's pickup/drop off spot near where
you left your SO & luggage.

10. Have SO drag the luggage the 20 feet to car

11. Complain to SO about having to walk ~260 feet outside of air
conditioning.

How does this part work?

They grab it by the handles and pull.

Since IIRC you said you're going to be on Little Cayman (BTW, which
resort you staying at?) and you're doing this for a longer layover, you
may not be necessarily able to check in for your flight and get rid of
your checked bags.  This is why I suggested your SO to stay behind with
the bags, rather than dragging them over to the rental car place.

Once you have the car, its a bit of a YMMV, but I find that we can
usually stuff all of our bags into a rental car if its just the two of
us with all our bags.  With Little Cayman's baggage weight limits, this
should apply to you too.

FWIW, when we're able to ditch our checked bags and just have our
carry-on's, we just shoulder them and walk on over to the rental cars,
as the total distance is significantly less than what one can be
expected to have to walk from security to gate in most larger airports.
